Sometimes I open an email and I genuinely don’t know who the sender is. I obviously have signed up for their newsletter but even as I am scrolling down, I have no idea who they are and why I signed up in the first place. Can you relate?

No, seriously. I don’t know who you are but you are trying to sell me a course or your services. It’s not that I’m senile but believe it or not, I get a lot of emails and I don’t know you yet — I actually don’t know who you are full stop — so please, remind me who you are, what you look like and what your social media handle is because most likely, I found you on Instagram or maybe YouTube.

It is so easy to assume that because someone signed up for your newsletter, they know you and what you are about, but they don’t. They signed up because they would like to get to know you, they might have liked something you posted, some words have resonated with them, but they don’t know anything about you yet. So please, make it easier for new subscribers to place you.
