Reclaim Your Evenings! Stop Being Busy and Just Slow Down!
Our days are hectic. Work, children, chores and commitments have us on our feet from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, then we go to bed full of the velocity of our days so, instead of crashing, we experience restless sleep because we don’t have time to wind down.
Too often our evenings are hijacked by activities like online banking, searching for a house or a holiday package, comparing white goods or devices, ordering books and so on. For all its blessings, the internet has also stolen a lot of our personal time. Years ago, these activities would have been done in person during the day. Now, because of the ‘convenience’ of online services, we have to do the work of a bank teller, a sales assistant, a holiday provider etc, during our downtime.
We need to reclaim our evenings in order to create essential balance in our life. Our fast and busy days need to be followed by recovery, nourishment of our body and soul and rest so we can start the next day with more energy and enthusiasm rather than feeling dread when the alarm goes off.
Aim to squeeze tasks you do in the evenings during your lunch break, commute or any time you have a spare minute. Reclaim the evenings for quality time with yourself and your loved ones.
